Food myhts and meat searing
Fact or fiction? Click here if you want to retake the food myths test we did together in class.
There was one particular question which created a bit of a debate: does searing meat actually seal in the juices? According to Buzzfeed, the answer is no, but many of you argued that this is absolutely wrong. So, to fire up the debate a bit more, here are some of the links (other than Wikipedia) I checked yesterday when I was making sure that the quiz was reliable and there were no serious mistakes.
Click here to read an article in kitchn.com about this topic, easy to read - and not too long!
For those of you in a mood for a video, click here to watch this theory put to a test. The video is under 3 minutes and it has wonderful subtitles to go with it.
There is a LOT of new vocabulary in all of the resources above, you can make notes on some words or expressions you learn from reading/watching.
Last, but not least, let me know (in English) if you agree or not with what you read and why!
